On your birthday scenery card

Another scenery card as I need another masculine birthday card. I am not so sure about the sky but I got good comments from my dh, who always tells me honestly what he thinks, I don't always agree but that is okay, right, LOL!
I stamped the pines and rocks Stampscapes 267 E, three times on glossy cardstock and added the rocks on the bottom,295 C. Then I got my stipple brushes and started with the sky.
Here are the colours I used: Tim Holtz (TH) spun sugar, Stampinup (SU) summer sun, TH dried marigold, SU baja breeze, TH black soot, maybe this is a bit too black?
Then I stamped some water with Stampscapes (SC) 231 C, with SU not quite navy and stippled some SU pacific point, SU not quite navy and SU basic grey on.
Every time I put on a colour, I will dry it with my heat gun for a couple of seconds, this way the colours don't mud together.
The stones have a bit of TH old paper, TH frayed burlap and SU chocolate chip.
I wasn't gonna colour the trees as it is getting dark, but I still thought it needed some, so I added a bit of SU handsome hunter.
At last I stamped the birds, SC 302 A and the reeds, SC 067 B.
I sprayed on some acrylic sealer from Americana, have had this forever.
Sentiment is from Just Rite. I matted the image on black, put it on a piece of kraft, ripped and inked the bottom, some scored lines and put it on a black base.
Sometimes after the scene is done, I don't know how to finish the card, feels like I do the same thing over and over, but then, I think, it doesn't need much any more, any thoughts, please let me know!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day, Anja

Soft Baby Boy

Today I am sharing a baby boy card with you, I am gonna enter it for a Dutch challenge, check it out HERE.
I have used a stamp from the set Baby first from SU, I am pretty sure it is retired now but I have always liked this set. Paper from DCWC and the sentiment is from Verve, label punches from SU, MS borderpunch, some ribbon, stickles and the Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug.
And of course some ribbon and bling from my stash.
It is an easy card to make, and I am gonna look through my paper to make a girl one too, I am sure I can find some, LOL!

Love always!

Today my husband and I are celebrating our 23rd anniversary!!!
Twenty three years ago I married a Dutch dairy farmer and now 23 years later I am married to a Canadian chicken farmer/cashcropper with lama's and sheep and some horses! Never a dull moment!
I would do it again in a heart beat and I am hoping and praying for many more years together!
So, I made him this card, this summer he has build a cabin, smaller than the one in the picture but nice it is.
The stamps are from Rubbernecker from the Cause a Scene set (a set designed by KITTIE),
paper from DCWV Natural mat stack, birds from Stampscapes, sentiment from Hero Arts,
Nestabilities, SU punches and some bronze Viva pearl pen.
Thanks for looking, Anja

Birthday for the boys!

Snowing and blowing at my house like crazy, I am wondering if the boys will come home from school early....I better get my stamping done, LOL!
I am sharing with you a card for the boys, I always need those and my boys love to drive the 4 wheeler, dirt bike and all the fun stuff. This is a fairly simple card, stamps from Clear Dollar stamps , paper from Fancy Pants. I stamped the background with Distress old paper ink, using my clear block as a stamp, love that effect. Borderpunch from MS along the border, some ribbon and all done, see, I can be fast too!
Have a great day, thanks for stopping by, Anja

If you click on the names, it will bring you to their blog, check it out, lots of inspiration and talent! Have fun visiting them, I am excited about all the things we will be able to learn from each other.
So to celebrate I have another Stampscapes card to share with you.
I stamped the Cabin with fence, 144F, with some extra trees, tree duo large 086B, with versafine black ink on glossy paper. After it was dry, I took some stipple brushes and layered the colours on,stipple by stipple, making sure one colour was dry before adding the next one. Those brushes are so easy to use and will give you a great effect. After I was happy with the colours, I added the crooked limb, 097E, and the birds, 112A on the top and added the top part of 191A on the bottom. I have used a variety of inks, SU, Tim Holtz distress ink, Adirondeck inks, next time I will mark down which colours exactly.
I then finished my card with a flourish from MFT and some little leaves from a Punch a bunch punch, sentiment from Close to my Heart, on a die from MFT, and to finish it off I used a bronze Viva pearl pen to add some accents.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day, Anja

SU sympathy card

Since I was out of sympathy cards I made a couple, just so that I have one when you need it.
I like to keep those cards simple, this idea I got from Splitcoast and it is stamped with an old SU favourite, Heartfelt thanks. I coloured the stamp with markers, the sentiment is from Just Rite.
Some old gold cord, some gold Viva pearls and Nestabilities. And some scored lines, hard to see in the picture.
Let's hope the card stays in my box for a while, thanks for looking, Anja

Flowers for your birthday!

Now our Christmas break is officially over, kids are back in school, at college and at work.
The house is a mess, the fridge is empty, decorations put away.....
So I guess, there will be no stamping time today, I need to do groceries and some cleaning, but there is always tomorrow and while you clean a bathroom or 2 you can think up a new card!
There were a few unfinished cards on my desk, and now they are done so I can show them here.
I can't remember the name of the dp, sorry, flowers are from Crealies, sprayed with pearl mist and goosebumps, swirl from MFT, branches from MS, fiskars borderpunch, sentiment from Just Rite, die from Nellie Snellen. As a final touch some I added some bronze dots with a Viva pen.

Simple sympathy

Another sympathy card, made with some old retired SU paper. It's fun what you can find in your own paper drawer, lol! The colours are so off in the picture, it looks way better IRL.
The punches I used are from Martha Stewart, sentiment from Just Rite. A quick and easy card, good to have on hand for when you need it. With the scorpal I added some lines, love the look of that effect.

Masculine again.....

Can you tell that I am having a lot of fun with my Stampscapes? Sometimes they stay in the closet for a while but now they are out and I am using them, lol! Trying some different things, some work and some don't.
Since I need 2 masculine cards this week, they come in handy. This scene is done on white neenah cardstock and I sponged on some distress inks, stamped the image twice and added the geese. I popped up the man in the canoe and voila, done!
Sentiment is from Just Rite.
Off to do some cleaning today and hopefully some more stamping, thanks, Anja

An old favourite and a new one...

The snow storm is over and if I look out the window I see a beautiful, snow covered world and the sun is shining, not sure how cold it is now but it was minus 15 last night, later on I will bundle up and go for a walk.

I did get to stamp and I played with an old SU set, oh so lovely, and lovely it is. The flowers are coloured with Prisma's and then I added a layer of Viva clear glass. Sentiment from Just Rite.

The Spellbinders were a Christmas present, Fleur De Lis Rectangle, and I think it gives this card the elegant look I was hoping for.

Thanks for stopping by, Anja

Stampscaping

We are in the middle of a snowstorm, 40 cm of snow has already been dumped on us and it is still snowing though it is supposed to get better this afternoon.

So it is a perfect day to stamp! Out came the basket with stampscapes stamps to make a card for the challenge over HERE.

Make a scene is the theme and that's what I did. I stamped the main image, lakeside cove, 3 times on glossy cardstock with black Archival ink. With some make up sponges I started to apply colour by colour, distress inks, SU ink, Adirndack inks. You name it and it can be found in my craft room, LOL!

The trick I had learned a while back is that after applying each colour, you need to let that colour dry or heat set it before applying the next colour. This way, the colours don't"mud" together.

I believe I learned this from the Stampscapes website. I actually made 3 other scenes before I was happy with the result and knew what colours I wanted to use.

I would like to learn how to make the water more real, a little more dark blue, I guess, so I will try that on another project.

After I was happy with the colouring, I stamped the birds (Gulls 302A) , the branches (Crooked limb O97E), the reeds ()67B) and the guy in the canoe (159E), he almost got cut off, LOL!

After everything was stamped, I sprayed it with a seal and finished the card with a piece of yellow coloured cardstock, an ek borderpunch, some score lines, brads and a sentiment from Just Rite.

Let me know what you think and any tips you can give me!! I would love to hear from you, Anja
