New to me

A baby card with a "new to me" stamp from Outlines rubber stamps.

Saturday it was garage sale at SGD, and I picked up this cute stamp. I don't know this company but that doesn't mean anything...there are so many beautiful and cute stamps out there it wouldn't be good if I did know them all, LOL!

So yesteday I sat down with my Prismacolour pencils and coloured it up, later on adding a lot of different stickles. The sentiment is from Verve stamps, I always seem to grab that one when I need a baby card. After taking this picture, I did fix the little pink dots on the right, they are on straight now, oops.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day, Anja

Penny Black baby card

Instead of sharing a card with you, I should be cleaning up my craft space....the mess is huge!

But I dsy down and made a card....way more fun and the mess will wait.

Sharing with you today a baby card done with a Penny Black stamp and the sentiment is from Verve.

I have coloured the image with Prisma's and I used a Sankura pen on top to highlight some areas, hard to see in the picture, then I used Nellie dies to cut it out. Love how those dies go so well with the Martha Stewart border punch.

Some bling and the dots embossing folder to top it off.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Just Rite birthday wishes

It is no secret....I love Just Rite stamps! This stamp is from the set Birthday Celebrations.
I had fun making this card, I stamped it in Versafine black and coloured with Prisma's and Gamsol, then I cut it out with some different Nesties. The little circle in the middle is popped up.
I picked some dp from my stash, this one is from Cosmo Cricket, Pixie Licious. Borderpunch from Martha Stewart and the flowers are made from different little punches, shaped with my flower tool kit. I added some score lines and made pearls for the centre of the flowers with the Viva pearl pen, ice white.
I didn't add any more bling, for one or another reason I have a hard time using bling and pearls on the same card, isn't that crazy, LOL??
Wondering what you think about it.
Thanks for stopping by, happy crafting, Anja

EK success dimensional flower punch

There are some new punches from EK out, to make dimensional flowers, I got the carnation one.

At first I wasn't so sure about the punch, to be honest, I had to play with them a little bit. I am not doing it as the instructions say...I tried but didn't like that as much so I watched different You tubes and I decided that I like to use a single strip and roll it around a small paint brush, making sure that the petals don't line up.

I put adhesive on the whole strip on the bottom and I cut the bottom in half, length wise, this way the flower doesn't get as high, which is nice if you want to use it on a card.

This doesn't change the outcome of the flower. I also added some seperate petals with glue at places where I thought it needed it.

I have also played with it in some different ways.......... I actually cut a few strips, then cut out all the petals seperate and applied them with glue around a little punched out circle, that was a lot of work, but the result is a nice flat flower.

Hoping to make some sort of tutorial about it but that is a whole new adventure for me!

For the rest of the card supplies: embossing folder Jo's circles from Craft Concepts, dp from

Pitter Patter Making Memories, swirls from a Marianne die, sentiment from Hero arts, Martha Stewart border punch and pearls made with a Viva magenta pearl pen.

All in all a long post, sorry, I hope it wasn't too boring!

Have a great day, Anja

Sympathy card

Last week I addded wild honey distress ink from Tim Holtz to my collection, what a rich colour, love it. I made this background with wild honey, broken china and tumbled glass distress inks with the blending tool, also from Tim H.

The leaves are a stamp from Rubbernecker and the sentiment is from AmyR.

Butterflies are a die from Cheery Lynn design, so much detail, and they are sprayed with Goosebumps. Soon I am going to need a 3rd bottle!

The dp is from Stella Rose, borderpunch from Martha Stewart and on the top I have used a label from Fancy Labels 3.

This was an easy and quick card, I really like how it turned out, hope you do too!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

For the men in your life!

Happy Friday to all of you!!!

The first week of school is almost over and we are getting used to the routine, the boys love to be back and see all their friends every day.

With 4 boys and a husband, I need to make masculine cards at least a couple of times a year.

I don't know about you, but they are not the easiest, I mean that kind of cards, LOL!

So when I find a set that works....like the set Guiding Light from Flourishes, the set gets good use. For this card I stamped the lighthouse image and coloured it with Prisma's and Gamsol, then I cut it out along the top and kept the bottom straight.

The clouds are made with the stamp from Impression Obsession, clouds, stamped with the mega rock block on a white piece of paper with light blue ink. Then I glued the lighthouse image on the clouds and cut it to size, I have matted it with the second largest die from the large deckled rectangles from Nestabilities.

The seagulls are done with a black Sharpie, there are 2 red mini brads from my stash in the right top corner. The twine is from West Trim Crafts, the sentiment from Just Rite, the set is called

Just Because and has a lot of nice little sentiments.

The white background is done with an embossing folder from Crafts Too, and I also used 2 dies from Sprightly Sprockets of Spellbinders, a must have for masculine cards!!

As always, Sheila carries all those supplies in the best store ever, SGD!!

Have a great weekend, and happy crafting, Anja

Another boat card....

I have made this card at the beginning of the summer and I don't think I posted it.
Hopefully you like boats....there are a couple of "boat" cards the last while and more coming, LOL! No clue from which company this one is, the sentiment is from Close to my Heart and border punches from MS and Making Memories. I don't remember which dp, sorry, not a lot of info, it's been a while.
Have a great day, Anja

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Tomorrow it is my Mom's 70th birthday! So today, after everybody was out of the door, I sat down to make her a card. It felt so good to sit in a quiet house, don't get me wrong, I love my kids dearly but to have some quiet time....wonderful!
I have used the Sunflower set 2 from Spellbinders, an older set but new to me. I cut the flower 6 times, inked up the edges with some orange and started "forming" them with my flower tool kit from Punch a bunch, you can get it at SGD.

It makes your flowers look a lot more real. For the center I wanted to use Flowersoft, but I did not have the right colour......what now, so I used the colour autumn and sprinkled some chocolate re inker on it, let it dry and voila, the right colour.

The big leaves came with the set and the smaller leaves are dies from Marianne.

The border along the bottom is done with a Martha Stewart punch, dp from Kaiser Craft, embossing folders from Cuttlebug, sentiment from Clear Dollar stamps, the tag is made with a punch, ribbon and brads from my stash. And the circles are made with Nestabilities.

I hope my Mom will like it, have a great evening, Anja

Quick elegant card, my post as a DT

Happy Friday to all of you!!! I can't believe it is Labour Day weekend and school is about to start soon..........no more sleeping in or lazy days, oh no, back to routine and schedules.

For me it means a little more time to myself during the day, so I guess I am pretty lucky.

On to my project, I would like to share with you a quick card, you know, for those occasions when you need a card and you just didn't have time to make

I love it, when it doesn't take forever and you end up with an elegant card. The sentiment can be used for so many different occasions, just a little tip, keep the inside blanc till you need it, so you can "customize" it any way.

It was hard to get a good picture because of the glimmer.

Of course all the products used are from SGD and can be found on the website.

The cardstock is all from Bazzil, the base of the card is made with metallic luster.

The front is from Bazzil, wedding pin stripe and I have used a Crafts Concept embossing folder, called butterfly kisses. The big butterfly is made with Martha Stewart's monarch butterfly punch and the sentiment is from Just Rite, just because mini sentiments.

The pearls are made with a Viva pearl pen, ice white. The sentiment is stamped with Versafine ink, olympic green.

So there you have it, simple, quick and elegant. Have a great weekend!

Till next time, Anja

News and a card!!

Good morning, the calendar says September 1 st! Time to start some things up!
Please, go over to the blog from SGD!
They have cooked up something this summer!! I am not gonna say what, take a look yourself, leave a comment, and have a chance to win something!

I am sharing a masculine card with you today, I used my neglected Tombo's and spend some time watercolouring, so relaxing and I love how this image from a Flourishes' set, Guiding Light, turned out.
The green background is done with a embossing folder from Tim Holtz, and I also used the CB dots embossing folder on that little strip of blue, designer paper from October Afternoon, seaside, borderpunch from Fiskar, sentiment from Kaiser craft stamps, silver brads from my stash and the die cuts along the bottom are made with the dies from Spellbinder, Sprightly Sprockets, I must have for masculine cards.

Hope you are enjoying these last days of the summer, thanks for stopping by, Anja
