Stampscapes

Another card that turned out so much different than I had planned...I love the Stampscapes stamps but I also struggle with them especially when it comes to colouring. So I was happy to find a new blog this week that is gonna be all about those wonderful stamps, check it out HERE.
For this card I used my Prismacolour pencils and some gamsol and the blender pencil , added some accents with gel and sakure glitter pens and inked the image with antique linen distress ink. I also sprayed the image to seal it. What I like about using the prismacolour pencils is the variety of colours, lots to choose from, and that you can easily blend the colours even without using the gamsol.
The whole shadow/highlighting thing is something I always struggle with so I like to avoid that but that is not possible with those stamps. So I keep on trying...practice makes perfect, right?
I know I am far from that but it was fun to play and I am gonna visit this new site a lot and hope to learn from other talented people!!
Have a great day, Anja

Boy's birthday card

So I started working on this card with a plan in my head....don't know what happened to the plan but the outcome is completeley different, LOL!
I wanted to make a masculine card, it turned out to be a boy's birthday card. You don't wanna know how I struggled to finish it...
The dp is from my scrap bucket, the sentiment and birds from Clear Dollar stamps, the boat is a Marianne die and the clouds are made with an Impression obsession background. Borderpunch from EK and some Spellbinders, brads from my stash.
I guess I keep on trying, maybe I will get some stamp time today.
Thanks for looking, Anja

Sympathy card

Sad, but reality, I needed a sympathy card for a very young person.

I can only imagine what this family has to go through. I kept the card simple, the dies are from

Spellbinders blossoms, tags and accents, sentiment from Just Rite. Flower also from the set of

Spellbinders and a little punched flower in the middle, Cheery Lynn and MS for the branches.

Then I added some Viva pearl silver pen. The dp is from a pack from Action, the borders are done with a MS borderpunch.

Till next time, Anja

Playing with some new goodies!

I am blogging here in my pj's, with a coffee and a very quiet house! That's a nice change for now, lol!
Yesterday I had some time to play with some of my Christmas presents....some Nestabilities and MFT dies. I decided to use some different colours, so here we go. The background is embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder, the sentiment is from Just Rite, ribbon from my stash, Blossoms, tags and accents nestabilities ( what a nice versatile set), MFT flourish, Cheery Lynn olive branches and butterfly, MS butterfly, some bling from my stash and the flowers are made with various punches and sprayed with goosebumps.
Now, I am not so sure about the choices of colour but fun I had to make it, LOL!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Just Rite anniversary card

It was good to sit at my craft table and just play....so relaxing. I pulled out my Just Rite stamps and made this card for an upcoming anniversary.
The rolled flowers are Marianne Dies and the leaves and greenery are also made with Marianne and Cheery Lynn dies. I spritzed the flowers with glimmermist iridescent gold. The dp is from DCWV, did I do that in the right order? The sentiment is from Inkadinkadoo. The border is made with a Martha Stewart punch.
This card needs to be send in a little box, good thing that I got some the other day, LOL!
The two little hearts are from my own collection, probably from Hobby Lobby or so.
Thanks for stopping by, Anja

Masculine get well card

My Christmas cards are all done and almost all mailed or delivered! Every year I have good intentions to start early and it never happens, LOL!
I really need to make some "other" cards, my box is almost empty and today I need a masculine get well card, so here I am "casing" myself but at least I got it done.
Hopefully I will get some more stamp time today!

Hope your day is going great, thanks for stopping by, Anja

More masculine, quick and easy

Happy Friday!

I love this time of the year, but there isn't much time left to craft so today I am sharing a quick and easy card with you!

As a big fan of embossing folders, I had to have the SIZZIX , birthday, congrats and thanks set. It embosses so nice and deep!

The dp is from Basic Grey, out of print. Diecuts from Spellbinders, Sprightly Sprockets.

After I cut out and inked the edges, I sprayed Goosebumps on them.

The pewter brads are out one of my drawers!!

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Masculine birthday

There is not much going on in my craft room...lots of other things needed some attention.
This is a card I made 2 weeks ago, I needed a masculine card and was looking through my supplies, and my basket with Stampscapes caught my eye. I quickly found some dp from Basic Grey and came up with this card. Of course I had to use a MS borderpunch and Nestabilities, LOL!
Have a great day and thanks for looking! I am off to put some decorations up and to go to SGD for Therapy Thursday!!! Maybe I will see some of you there, take care, Anja

Smooch spritzed flowers

Tonight I sat down and I had to make some flowers! Couldn't help myself, LOL! Yesterday I spend the day at SGD for the 3rd anniversary, it was a lot of fun, so many ladies came out and it was good to see everybody! I also learned some new things about flowers from Judy, if you ever have a change to take her class, you end up like me, learning so much! I have a Judy drawer now, filled with things I never considered craft items, tooth picks, silicone gel, wax paper, LOL!

The card from today is made with some leftovers I had from a workshop, the sentiment is from

Stampendous, borderpunch Making Memories, CB embossing border, Basic Grey dp out of print, pearls from somewhere, rolled flower and some flower punches, green stuff from punches and a sizzix die.

I spritzed the flowers with Smooch spritz, ice rink, after I saw what Judy did, I had to have that colour too. It looks like I used a little too much on the bigger flower, but IRL it looks just fine, I guess the camera picked up the glimmer too much.

Have a great night and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Lots of pink and sparkle!

Everybody likes pink flowers and bling, right, LOL!!
In my perfect world you do...
Last night I played with some flowers I have had forever....and some beads and some floral wire, a glue gun, dies and glimmer goosebumps.
I made a floral spray, sprayed it with shimmery goosebumps, the doily is also "goosebumped".
This morning everything was nicely dried up and I finished the card with a sentiment from
Just Rite and a Spellbinders tag.
This is not a card to send in an envelope, it is gonna be put in a clear box and hand delivered.
Hope you have a great day and no rain in your part of the world, Anja

Blank card

Not so sure if I should post this card or not....but here it is.
The background is made with acrylic paint sponge daubers, had to have them a couple of years ago....still sitting in one of my drawers. The butterfly is stamped on acetate, the little butterfly and the border are dies from Cheery Lynn.
Let's just say, I will try again....
Have a great day, Anja

PBSC178, make a wish!

Second post today, I was so lucky to have time to play in the Penny Black challenge, you can read all about it HERE.
Green and trees is the theme for this week. I love the Penny Black stamps but I don't have a lot of Christmas ones, so I had to make something else work. The tree is a diecut from Marianne designs and the cute dogs and sentiment are from the set Critter party. I can just picture the bigger dog telling the little one to make a wish for Christmas, LOL!
I used a lot of different supplies for this card. First I stamped the sky with light blue ink and the background stamp from Impression Obsession, the bottom part is separate and I used a post it note to make some hills and sponged some light blue on.
The little snowflakes are a diecut from Cheery Lynn, the dogs are coloured with Prisma's and gamsol, cut out, shaped, and put together with silicone kit. THe snow on the tree is white flock and the snow around the dogs and tree is a mix of white flock and diamond dust. Then I used some stickles, green and red, Viva clear gel pen, Viva silver glitter pen, the SU label punch to cut out the sentiment, some bling from my stash. The red background is done with an embossing folder from Darice. Can you see all the fun I had?
Hope you have some time to play too, good night, Anja

Happy New Home!

Last week we went to a housewarming party and of course I wanted to make a little card to go with the gift. I have used the little background stamp from Prima, after I stamped the image and inked the edges, I embossed the whole piece with UTEE. The sentiment is from Hero and the 2 keys are made with the Cricut. If you cut out the keys a couple of times from cardstock and you put them together with the sticker maker , it starts to look like a real key.
Hope you like it, have a great day, Anja

PBSC 177, Gold and presents

Here is my card for the PBSC 177, you can read all the details HERE.
For this challenge, you are to use GOLD and PRESENTS! Who doesn't like gold and presents?
I love the little boxes under the tree, you know, the tiny, pretty ones, I sometimes get one of those, and it usually means gold and something shiny, LOL!
Anyhow, Christmas is 5 weeks away and you can combine making your Christmas cards with this challlenge if you like.
This image is coloured with Prisma's and Gamsol, the present is cut out and popped up.
I matted it on the doily die from Cheery Lynn, which I cut from gold paper, so pretty!
The background is a Sizzix embossing folder.
Then I got out different colours of stickles and the Viva glass effect pen, love that stuff.
Hope you like it too, have a great day, Anja

CAS and CASED!

My mojo was gone for a couple of days....but I got it back! After surfing so many different blogs, I came across this card HERE and I just had to case it.
Love the clean and simple layout. The one little cupcake is made with a EK punch, the other one is from Inkadinkadoo, stamped twice, coloured and cut out. The cupcakes have Viva glass effect gel on them and the blue icing has some of MS iridescent glitter.
The sentiment is from Stampendous, stamped and cut out with the SU label punch. DP is from the Paper studio. A nestabilitie for the square and the inside is embossed with the CB dots folder.
Some bling from my stash and done!
Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Penny Black Christmas card, PBSC176

How are you all doing with your Christmas cards? If you can use some help, you should check out the challenge over at Penny Black, you can go HERE to read all about it.
I had to play, so much fun!
I coloured the image, a thorny affair, with my Prisma's and gamsol, cut her out twice and after shaping and molding her a little bit, I put her together with silicone gel. This is my newly learned favourite technique!
The snowflakes are from CheeryLynn, beautiful detailed dies and so easy to cut out with the Vagabond. The sentiment is from Kaisercraft, stamped on the smallest die from labels 5.
The twine is from my stash. Some stickles were added, diamond and lime green, and some Viva
pens were used. The background is an embossing folder from Crafts too, snowflake banner.
A bit of diamond dust for snow for the final touch.
Hope you like it!
I am off to bed, Anja

More Penny Black...

Last week I had the pleasure to go to a class from Judy Kennedy, she is a very talented lady and I learned so many things. Judy is an amazing artist, it is too bad she doesn't have a blog, she is a regular visitor, and now teaching classed here too, at SGD and through the store you can find her beautiful work. If you see her projects, you know, it's from Judy!
This is not a card from that class, but I did use some of the techniques. I had to go out and buy
silicone kit, Judy showed us how to really pop your images with it. My glitter also came out of the drawers. This card was done with a lot of time in between steps, glitter and diamond dust, stickles, shimmering Goosebumps, the Cricut (Cindy Loo cardtridge), Viva glass effect pen, flowersoft, MS tinsel glitter, MS butterfly punch, flowers, glimmermist, embossing folder, Prismacolour pencils and gamsol, Marianne dies, various punches, I think I named most of the supplies used.
It was very relaxing to work on this card, even though it took a long time to finish it, lots of fun!
I know that the person who gets this card, will appreciate it!!
Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Penny Black birthday card PBSC175

It' s been ages I have played the Penny Black Saturday Challenge! This week it is sketch time, I sat down and had fun making this card.
You can find the challenge here.
The cat in the basket is from the set In the Garden and the sentiment from Critter Party.
I coloured with Prismacolour pencils, used my blender pencil and some Gamsol. After colouring, and adding some Viva glitter pens and glass effect, I cut out the image, the face twice and popped it up. The dp is from Echo Park, country drive. I cut a circle with Nesties and embossed it, the little circle and the turqoise circle are cut with Nellie Snellen dies.
The yellow flowers are from Crealies, I inked the edges and shaped them with the Punch a bunch flower tool kit. Some bling and greenery to make the flower spray (is that what you call it?).
If you click on the image you get a better look! I am a little frustrated with the photo editing, I am sure it's me, but frustrating it is.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Wedding card and a new website

Did you get to make a card on National Cardmaking Day?
I did, between going to the local Fair and picking up kids here and there.
A wedding card this time, with the set from Flourishes, stamped with Versafine black for a crisp image. A MS borderpunch and a embossing folder from Sizzix and a doily from Cheery Lynn......
cut out with my new.............drumroll please, vagabond from Tim Holtz.
No, I didn't win it at SGD, but maybe you did.
You should go over to the new website and check it out, you can find it HERE.
Anyhow, I bought myself the vagabond machine, and I have to say, it is a great machine, it does exactly as it says and for those detailed dies....perfect cuts and no more picking out little pieces of paper or missing some parts of it. Tim does it all, LOL!
Today would be another great cardmaking day but I will be a good girl and go clean up the mess here at home, maybe tonight...
Thanks for stopping by, Anja

New to me

A baby card with a "new to me" stamp from Outlines rubber stamps.

Saturday it was garage sale at SGD, and I picked up this cute stamp. I don't know this company but that doesn't mean anything...there are so many beautiful and cute stamps out there it wouldn't be good if I did know them all, LOL!

So yesteday I sat down with my Prismacolour pencils and coloured it up, later on adding a lot of different stickles. The sentiment is from Verve stamps, I always seem to grab that one when I need a baby card. After taking this picture, I did fix the little pink dots on the right, they are on straight now, oops.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day, Anja

Penny Black baby card

Instead of sharing a card with you, I should be cleaning up my craft space....the mess is huge!

But I dsy down and made a card....way more fun and the mess will wait.

Sharing with you today a baby card done with a Penny Black stamp and the sentiment is from Verve.

I have coloured the image with Prisma's and I used a Sankura pen on top to highlight some areas, hard to see in the picture, then I used Nellie dies to cut it out. Love how those dies go so well with the Martha Stewart border punch.

Some bling and the dots embossing folder to top it off.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

My plan was to have this card posted on Friday, I made it for the store's blog, so for more info, go on over HERE.

Just Rite birthday wishes

It is no secret....I love Just Rite stamps! This stamp is from the set Birthday Celebrations.
I had fun making this card, I stamped it in Versafine black and coloured with Prisma's and Gamsol, then I cut it out with some different Nesties. The little circle in the middle is popped up.
I picked some dp from my stash, this one is from Cosmo Cricket, Pixie Licious. Borderpunch from Martha Stewart and the flowers are made from different little punches, shaped with my flower tool kit. I added some score lines and made pearls for the centre of the flowers with the Viva pearl pen, ice white.
I didn't add any more bling, for one or another reason I have a hard time using bling and pearls on the same card, isn't that crazy, LOL??
Wondering what you think about it.
Thanks for stopping by, happy crafting, Anja

EK success dimensional flower punch

There are some new punches from EK out, to make dimensional flowers, I got the carnation one.

At first I wasn't so sure about the punch, to be honest, I had to play with them a little bit. I am not doing it as the instructions say...I tried but didn't like that as much so I watched different You tubes and I decided that I like to use a single strip and roll it around a small paint brush, making sure that the petals don't line up.

I put adhesive on the whole strip on the bottom and I cut the bottom in half, length wise, this way the flower doesn't get as high, which is nice if you want to use it on a card.

This doesn't change the outcome of the flower. I also added some seperate petals with glue at places where I thought it needed it.

I have also played with it in some different ways.......... I actually cut a few strips, then cut out all the petals seperate and applied them with glue around a little punched out circle, that was a lot of work, but the result is a nice flat flower.

Hoping to make some sort of tutorial about it but that is a whole new adventure for me!

For the rest of the card supplies: embossing folder Jo's circles from Craft Concepts, dp from

Pitter Patter Making Memories, swirls from a Marianne die, sentiment from Hero arts, Martha Stewart border punch and pearls made with a Viva magenta pearl pen.

All in all a long post, sorry, I hope it wasn't too boring!

Have a great day, Anja

Sympathy card

Last week I addded wild honey distress ink from Tim Holtz to my collection, what a rich colour, love it. I made this background with wild honey, broken china and tumbled glass distress inks with the blending tool, also from Tim H.

The leaves are a stamp from Rubbernecker and the sentiment is from AmyR.

Butterflies are a die from Cheery Lynn design, so much detail, and they are sprayed with Goosebumps. Soon I am going to need a 3rd bottle!

The dp is from Stella Rose, borderpunch from Martha Stewart and on the top I have used a label from Fancy Labels 3.

This was an easy and quick card, I really like how it turned out, hope you do too!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

For the men in your life!

Happy Friday to all of you!!!

The first week of school is almost over and we are getting used to the routine, the boys love to be back and see all their friends every day.

With 4 boys and a husband, I need to make masculine cards at least a couple of times a year.

I don't know about you, but they are not the easiest, I mean that kind of cards, LOL!

So when I find a set that works....like the set Guiding Light from Flourishes, the set gets good use. For this card I stamped the lighthouse image and coloured it with Prisma's and Gamsol, then I cut it out along the top and kept the bottom straight.

The clouds are made with the stamp from Impression Obsession, clouds, stamped with the mega rock block on a white piece of paper with light blue ink. Then I glued the lighthouse image on the clouds and cut it to size, I have matted it with the second largest die from the large deckled rectangles from Nestabilities.

The seagulls are done with a black Sharpie, there are 2 red mini brads from my stash in the right top corner. The twine is from West Trim Crafts, the sentiment from Just Rite, the set is called

Just Because and has a lot of nice little sentiments.

The white background is done with an embossing folder from Crafts Too, and I also used 2 dies from Sprightly Sprockets of Spellbinders, a must have for masculine cards!!

As always, Sheila carries all those supplies in the best store ever, SGD!!

Have a great weekend, and happy crafting, Anja

Another boat card....

I have made this card at the beginning of the summer and I don't think I posted it.
Hopefully you like boats....there are a couple of "boat" cards the last while and more coming, LOL! No clue from which company this one is, the sentiment is from Close to my Heart and border punches from MS and Making Memories. I don't remember which dp, sorry, not a lot of info, it's been a while.
Have a great day, Anja

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Tomorrow it is my Mom's 70th birthday! So today, after everybody was out of the door, I sat down to make her a card. It felt so good to sit in a quiet house, don't get me wrong, I love my kids dearly but to have some quiet time....wonderful!
I have used the Sunflower set 2 from Spellbinders, an older set but new to me. I cut the flower 6 times, inked up the edges with some orange and started "forming" them with my flower tool kit from Punch a bunch, you can get it at SGD.

It makes your flowers look a lot more real. For the center I wanted to use Flowersoft, but I did not have the right colour......what now, so I used the colour autumn and sprinkled some chocolate re inker on it, let it dry and voila, the right colour.

The big leaves came with the set and the smaller leaves are dies from Marianne.

The border along the bottom is done with a Martha Stewart punch, dp from Kaiser Craft, embossing folders from Cuttlebug, sentiment from Clear Dollar stamps, the tag is made with a punch, ribbon and brads from my stash. And the circles are made with Nestabilities.

I hope my Mom will like it, have a great evening, Anja

Quick elegant card, my post as a DT

Happy Friday to all of you!!! I can't believe it is Labour Day weekend and school is about to start soon..........no more sleeping in or lazy days, oh no, back to routine and schedules.

For me it means a little more time to myself during the day, so I guess I am pretty lucky.

On to my project, I would like to share with you a quick card, you know, for those occasions when you need a card and you just didn't have time to make

I love it, when it doesn't take forever and you end up with an elegant card. The sentiment can be used for so many different occasions, just a little tip, keep the inside blanc till you need it, so you can "customize" it any way.

It was hard to get a good picture because of the glimmer.

Of course all the products used are from SGD and can be found on the website.

The cardstock is all from Bazzil, the base of the card is made with metallic luster.

The front is from Bazzil, wedding pin stripe and I have used a Crafts Concept embossing folder, called butterfly kisses. The big butterfly is made with Martha Stewart's monarch butterfly punch and the sentiment is from Just Rite, just because mini sentiments.

The pearls are made with a Viva pearl pen, ice white. The sentiment is stamped with Versafine ink, olympic green.

So there you have it, simple, quick and elegant. Have a great weekend!

Till next time, Anja

News and a card!!

Good morning, the calendar says September 1 st! Time to start some things up!
Please, go over to the blog from SGD!
They have cooked up something this summer!! I am not gonna say what, take a look yourself, leave a comment, and have a chance to win something!

I am sharing a masculine card with you today, I used my neglected Tombo's and spend some time watercolouring, so relaxing and I love how this image from a Flourishes' set, Guiding Light, turned out.
The green background is done with a embossing folder from Tim Holtz, and I also used the CB dots embossing folder on that little strip of blue, designer paper from October Afternoon, seaside, borderpunch from Fiskar, sentiment from Kaiser craft stamps, silver brads from my stash and the die cuts along the bottom are made with the dies from Spellbinder, Sprightly Sprockets, I must have for masculine cards.

Hope you are enjoying these last days of the summer, thanks for stopping by, Anja

Baby card

I can't believe it's been over a week since I have stamped. Life got in the way, thankfully our son doesn't need surgery at this point, he is doing a lot better. It seems like my mojo is slowly getting back too, I stamped this image from Crafter's companion and watercoloured with my Tombo's.

Hadn't done that in ages and it felt good to play with them again.

The size of this card is 6x6, those bigger images just need a bit more room.

The dp is from My Mind's eye, two borderpunches from Making Memories were used, a small heart one on the bottom and the bigger one across. The little hearts are punched with a little punch that I have had for ages and with the Punch a bunch it is finally a pleasure to use.

The sentiment is from AmyR.

I guess that's all there is to say about this card.

Thanks for stopping by, Anja

Thinking of you

The other day at the all day crop I made this thinking of you card, the stamp is from Just Rite.

The border punches from MS, some Nestabilities and flower punches. It is hard to see in the picture but there is a piece of acetate under the purple layer and things are raised up.

I was hoping that I had more to show but my mojo seems to have left me. I did organize some things in my craft space, I keep running out of room , I wonder how come, LOL!

On a good note , our son seems to be doing a little better every day, we are hoping that no surgery is needed.

Hope your day is going great, thanks for stopping by, Anja

Thank you

This past week has been quite difficult, our oldest son was in an accident and broke his skull in 4 places, his brain is okay and it looks like he is gonna be okay, we are waiting for the next scan next week and we are hoping that no surgery is required. He is home now and needs lots of rest.
Lots of you have been praying and been with us through this so far. Thanks so much!!
Last night I had some time and played with my flowers and made this card for all of you!
Honestly, the picture doesn't do it justice.
All the little flowers are punched out, inked up, shaped, goosebumped and put together.
The embossed background is a folder from Crafts too, theb bigger purple behind the sentiment is a Nestabilitie, Fleur de lis.
Little dots of the pearl pen were put on to finish the flowers.
So again, thank you all for your concerns, it is greatly appreciated!!
I am hoping that the rest of the summer will be soooooooo boring, and I am about to wrap all of my men in bubblewrap, LOL!
Have a great day, Anja

Clean and simple

Yesterday I spend the day at the rubberconvention Heirloom show in NOVI!!!

What a fun we had!! Lots of new stuff, inspiration, shopping, fun, such a wonderful day.

Of course I had to get some new stuff, you can't go all the way to Novi and then come home with nothing, right? But I did "behave", and even the border guys thought we girls all "behaved".

I got my flower tool kit, that was my first purchase for the day and it was on my list, I also learned some new things about making flowers.

So today I had a little time to play, and I made this sympathy card. It took me a while to make it, so I am not sure if the title is correct.

The cream background is embossed with a Quickcutz embossing folder, the sentiment is from

Clear Dollar stamps, flowers from punches and Crealies dies, the greenery is made with some

Marianne dies and a die from CheeryLynn. After I punched the flowers, I inked the edges, used my new shaping tools and put some Pearl mist on it. The middle pearl is done with the Pearl pen.

You will probably see more flower cards soon, you never know.

Thanks for stopping by, Anja

Just Rite birthday

An elegant card today, Just Rite and Martha Stewart pair up nicely, I would say.

The stamps are from Just Rite, Spellbinders, Marianne Dies, MS border and butterfly punch, and some dp from Holland, a little bit of everything and everybody on this card.

Hope you are having a great day, here in Ontario it's a dreary day, some rain, no sun and very humid, so perfect to stay inside and do some crafting.

Thanks for stopping by!
