Another MFT card......

Hope you all had a good Christmas! We did, it was just our family minus our oldest son who is in Australia but he called on Christmas morning which was a great gift!
All of us got presents we really liked, surprise, surprise.
I walk around in this messy house this morning and I am wondering how quickly it can go from tidy to a huge mess, I know, it's not important, we had a great time as a family!! None of us will remember the mess but hopefully the good times we had.
I did sit down yesterday, not really sure what to do, found this stamp from MTF on my desk and played with it again. The image is coloured with Prisma's and Gamsol, paper is from My Mind's Eye. There are different colours of stickles on it.
Hope your day is going great, I am off to do some housework, take care, Anja

Elegant card in white.

Grrr, can't get a good picture to show off my elegant card.
It's hard to see in the picture that there is one layer of acetate and what is popped up and not.
The sentiment says :Get well, in Dutch and I would like to submit this card for the challenge I found here: www.eenhoopinspiratiechallenge.blogspot.com
A Dutch site with lots of inspiration, all the good things you can find while blogsurfing,LOL!
I love making all kind of cards although I have to say, making an elegant card is sometimes easier for me than a cute one.
If you click on the picture you might be able to see all the layers better.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Bright and sunshiney day!

How about a bright and sunshiney day?? How nice would that be, instead of all this snow and cold weather!
This cute stampset is from My Favorite Things and I got it from SGD.
The image is coloured with Prisma's and Gamsol then cut out and popped up.
The paper comes from a 6x6 pad of My Mind's Eye, fine and dandy.
Hope you are having a good day, thanks for stopping by, Anja

CIC#20. one more Christmas card!

I haven't done any challlenges for a while from Clear Dollar stamps but I did play for this one.
You can find all the info here: www.clearlyistamp.typepad.com
The challenge is to use 3 different shades of blue with black or white as your neutral.
Hmmm, it wasn't easy to match up 3 shades but this is what I came up with, I found this glitter paper in my stack and paired it up with caribbean an pacific blue.
The ornaments are from a little set called Ornament accents, I have coloured them with twinkling H2O's, then I cut out 3 of them and popped them up and I also set them off a little bit.
Don't know from which company the little sentiment is, had it forever, it's just the right size for the tag.
I had to add the pink....it didn't say I couldn't add another colour,LOL!
Have a great day and thanks for looking, Anja

Spring anyone?

Do you think it would stop snowing if I post a Spring card? It is still snowing, blowing and cold. The kids are home again today, last week they also had 3 snowdays!
They are hoping that they can go to school tomorrow....
So today I am posting a card in Spring colours, the flowers are from Clear Dollar stamps and the sentiment from Stampendous, I think.
My Christmas cards are all done for this year, if I only could get to town to mail them....
Have a great day, thanks for stopping by, Anja

High flyin' mouse

Isn't this mouse cute? It's a stamp from High Hopes and I like it!
I have watercoloured the image with Tombo's, trying to match the papers from the Mini Deck Joy Ride (Cosmo Cricket). The sentiment is from Clear Dollar stamps. The balloon is cut out twice, popped up, and has some Crystal effect over it. The buttons on the mouse' pants and the two little dots beside the sentiment are done with Pewter Liquid pearls. Some Nestabilities and a MS border punch along the bottom.
I really like this card, hope you do too, have a great day, Anja

Sweet Lili

It stopped snowing and the roads are getting cleared up, don't know for how long, it looks like more snow is on it's way, I better stock up on some groceries and we'll wait and see.
The sun was shining in my basement, I am done with Christmas cards and pulled out this High Hopes stamp, I was in a "soft" mood, lots of pink and soft colours.
The sentiment is from CTMH, the frame around Lili is made with the Cricut, Lacy Labels, love that cartridge.
I pulled out my Tombo's and since it has been a while...I am not sure, this is my best colouring.
Thanks for stopping by, take care, Anja

A Chrismas card

Here is the card I made, had to use some snowflakes on it, LOL!
The sentiment is from Clear Dollar stamps, the embossing folder from Sizzix, lots of different Nestabilities, MS punches and some snowflake punches.
I wanted to try to put an MS border along my oval, it took some practicing but it worked, I think it is a nice effect.
I am ready to be done with Christmas cards, I am gonna play with some other stamps today.
Have a great day, Anja

Snow, snow, and a card......

We are snowed in!!! Can't believe how much snow we are having and it keeps coming down!
The boys are home, and my husband spends a lot of time on the snow blower trying to keep up.
I am thankful that we are all safe and sound at home, we are getting the generator ready, just in case....
So I got to make a card but blogger wouldn't let me upload more than 5 pictures so I'll make another post for the card.
Thanks for stopping by, take care, Anja

Sharing my recipe....

No card today....yet, hope to make one later after we put up some decorations. The kids are home, we have so much snow, and it keeps coming down!!!
On Saturday we had an awesome day at SCRAPPINGREATDEALS!!
If you were there, you know what I am talking about, if you didn't have a change to come out, there is always next time.
I brought a boterkoek on Saturday and many ladies asked for the recipe....so here we go:

1/2 cup of butter
1/2 cup of margarine
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp of almond flavouring

Mix very well, I mix it for about 5 minutes , then add:
2 1/2 cup of flour
1 tsp baking powder

Put into 2 buttered 9 inch pie plates or in one 9 x 13 dish, brush with beaten egg, bake at 375 for about 20 minutes.

It is such an easy recipe, now you can make it too, it also freezes really well.
I got this particular recipe from a Dutch lady from Alberta a couple of years ago, I have tried different variations but this is my favourite.
The special thing about this recipe......on certain days there are no calories in it,LOL!!
They will go straight to your hips or somewhere else, LOL!!
Have a great day, thanks for stopping by, Anja

Winter wedding wishes

It's snowing pretty hard here, you can't see the grass anymore, perfect stamping weather, I think. This card is for a wedding and I have had some fun with Flowersoft,
had it for a while but I really didn't do much with it, love this effect around the oval.
I have used the colours that were in the invitation, the corners are from Sizzix, as is the embossed background.
Don't forget to check out the website from SCRAPPINGREATDEALS!
Tomorrow is the big day, the 2nd Anniversary from the store, with awesome DEALS AND PRIZES!!! And did I mention the FREE MAKE AND TAKES???
Hope to see you there, thanks for stopping by, Anja

I will post one soon, they are mostly all the same and a few different ones.

There will be free Make and Takes, lots of awesome prizes, food and refreshments....check it out on the website www.scrappingreatdeals.com
The fun will start at 10 AM and the make and takes will run till 3 PM!!!
So now you know what I have been doing, getting ready for Christmas and do lots of stuff in my craft room, oh , and I also did some shopping,to get the creative juices going, LOL!

Hope you like pink......lots of pink...

Hope you like pink and flowers, lots of them,LOL!
I had a plan in my head, didn't exactly come out as I thought. So now I have a card with lots of pink, green, flowers and bling! The sentiment is from Clear Dollar Stamps, the flowers are made with dies from Crealies and for the center I used a little punch. The leaf die is from Quick cut.
French script from SU is stamped in the background and the embossed panel is a folder from Sizzix.
Hope to get some time to stamp today, enjoy your day and thanks for looking, Anja

Just a simple card.....

A very, simple card for today, since I had no time and no inspiration at all.
By the way, it looks better IRL.
The dp is from Linen Closet, beautiful papers, perfect for elegant cards.
Today I have some organizing to do in my craft room, the mess is unbelievable, it's no wonder I can't do much.
So I am off to do some much needed work, take care, Anja

Happy Birthday, son!

Yesterday our second oldest son had a birthday and we drove all the way up north to visit him! We had a lovely visit and went out for dinner, we had a great time.
Here is the card I made for him, a while ago I saw those tool embellishments at the Dollar store and thought they would look great on a masculine card, well, here they are. They go perfect with this new embossing folder from Crafts too. I embossed it and then sanded it lightly. Stamps are from Just Rite, ribbon from SU and the scraps of paper from Basic Grey.
Later on I thought, that maybe the 2 little brads should have been a different colour....
It can't always be perfect, LOL!
Thanks for stopping by, Anja

Remembrance Day card? CC296

On Remembrance Day I started to colour this image of poppies, didn't go very well so I left it and last night I tried again, This time it's much better, red is a bit challenging for watercolouring with Tombo's. The background is a Crafts too folder, the sentiment from Verve stamps, some Nestabilities, ribbon and SU punches.
The colour challenge on splitcoast this week is poppy red, tempting turqoise, white and a neutral of your choice, so this card is right on, I think.
Hope you are having a great day, thanks for looking, Anja

Elegant card for your special day

So many things going on, so little time to stamp.....but I am not complaining, it's all good! After a productive scrapbookweekend with lots of fun and 33 pages done, getting ready for a workshop and having our oldest son home after being gone for 8 months.....I am really enjoying this time, and tomorrow we are driving up north to celebrate the birthday of the one that is not home at the moment. Love my family!
It's also such nice weather, way too nice not to spend time outside before Mr. Winter comes with all it's glory. But today I did make a card....an elegant one with Just Rite stamps and some border and corner punches. The dp is from Basic Grey, flowers out of my box, pearls to finish off this project.
Hope you like it, have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Something different

A different kind of card, and since I didn't really do any stamping this week I decided I am gonna share it with you. I am hoping Mr. Blogger is doing as I have asked him, LOL!
At first I didn't like this card at all, but after some chances it started to grow on me.
Let me know what you think, you can be honest , I can handle it.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

For a friend!

Not much activity here on my blog lately, I am going scrapbooking this weekend and I have to get ready for that. Since you can't spend all your time in your favourite room....
Today a friend has a birthday, (this one is for you, Joyce,) and since I don't see her today I am sending her this card through my blog. The image is from Penny Black, watercoloured with Tombo's.
Hope you all have a great day, thanks for stopping by, Anja

Making up for the whole week....

Two cards today, wow! Can't believe I haven't posted for a whole week, just too many people around and things to do. Yesterday I had time to stamp, so here we go...
Two baby cards for my box, since there were none left. The first one is with a High Hopes stamps, sentiment from Verve. All the images are watercoloured with Tombo's.
I have really learned a lot from an online course for the past 6 weeks, it's from Kim Teasdale, check it our here.
The second card is with a Penny Black image, from the set make a wish.
Next weekend I am going scrapbooking, like to do that too, and I need to get ready and organized for that so I doubt that there will be stamping time left, we'll see.
Have a great weekend, Anja

Best wishes with Inkadinkadoo

Flowers again, really like my flowers, as you may know.
Those are from Inkadinkadoo and the sentiment from Cornish Heritage Farms.
The flowers are watercoloured with Tombo's and there are some rhinestones around it.
The dp is retired SU dp, they all go so nicely together.
The black layer around the Nestabilities is cut out by hand, I just wanted to show a tiny bit of black so I have traced my die and cut it out, may not be perfect but it works for me.
Enjoy the weekend and thanks for looking, Anja

Penny Black challenge

I might be too late to play in last weeks challenge over at Penny Black's blog, but I still made a card for it. You can check out the details here.
Love Penny Black stamps, they are so cute. This image is watercoloured with Tombo's and the paper is from Basic Grey.
The challenge was to follow the sketch, which I always find very helpful.
Dinner is ready, our college boy is coming home for reading week so I am gonna feed him a good, home cooked supper. Have a great evening, Anja

Back to elegant and quick

Today my card is pretty quick to make, there is little stamping on it.
The stamps are from Just Rite and all I have used is a left over piece of dp from SU, a bow and different Nestabilities, love the elegance of this card.
Some rhinestones and voila, the card was done.
Have a great day and thanks for looking, Anja

Time for a cute card...

For a while I haven't made any cute cards so it's time to share one of those.
This adorable image is from Penny Black and the sentiment from Cornish Heritage Farms.
They were both garage sale deals again, I know, it's getting old.
The image is watercoloured with Tombo's, and some sponging around it. I messed up a little bit with the sentiment but decided to leave it like that, the little butterflies are there to distract you.
No stickles again this time, oh, I still like them, I guess I am just not in the mood for them, LOL!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Card from Garage Sale deals!!

My card from today came together with lots of "new to me stuff", the garage sale was so much fun! The flower stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms, I paid $1, unbelievalble!! It's watercoloured with Tombo's, and there are a little bit of stickles on it, the top flower is cut out and popped up. The sentiment is from my own collection of Verve stamps, but all the paper is from SU, most likely retired but who cares? I paid $2 and can make many more cards out of the one kit, it even came with the ribbon.
I am really liking my flowery, elegant cards and most of all my Tombo's!
Have to run, lots of plans today, have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Special Masculine card

My dh has a birthday coming up and I wanted to make him a special card!So this is what I came up with, the leaf stamps came from Walmart, I think, I have had them forever, the images are embossed and then watercoloured with Tombo's.
I carefully cut them all out and put them around the Nestabilitie, used some gluedots to keep them in place and covered up the center with a little Nestabilitie and a big bling thing.
A MS border punch along the border and the sentiment is from Stampendous. Of course I had to add a few stickles. Hope he likes it, have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Amyr flowers

I came back from the garage sale, which was AWESOME!! Found lots of great deals and it was so fun to see everybody else get good deals too. You can still go, it's on today and tomorrow!!
Yesterday I finished this card, the flowers are from Amyr's sympathy set and I have watercoloured the flowers with Tombo's. I have to say I am pretty pleased with my own colouring,LOL!
So flowers and bling, no pink today and no stickles, but I still think it's really an Anja card, hope you like it too. Have a great day, I am going to enjoy a cup of coffee and go through my bag of "new" goodies, Anja

Sympathy card and Garage Sale news!!

This stamp from the Stampbarn I have had for a while, just didn't use it yet. Only happens to me, right? I don't think so, LOL!
I have watercoloured the image with Tombo's and sponged riverrock ink around it. The sentiment is from Amyr, the rest is pretty basic.
This card will go in my box, hopefully I don't need it any time soon.
The other thing I would like to tell you about is the upcoming garage sale at Scrappingreatdeals!
It is gonna be on this weekend, October 16 and 17, you can check out the website for all the details here.
This is an event you don't want to miss if you like to get some awesome deals on your favourite scrapbook and cardmaking supplies!! It starts Saturday at 9 AM!!!

Happy thanksgiving and a card.

Happy Thanksgiving!! Hope you all had a great time!
We have enjoyed a lovely turkey dinner yesterday and today there were yummie leftovers.
It was actually the first time that I have cooked a turkey!! Pfff, it went well, thanks to the oven bag and some good advice.
My mojo seems to have left me a bit, probably because of the big mess in my craft room, so today I cleaned up and promised myself again, I am gonna keep it clean,LOL!
The image is from Penny Black, watercoloured with Tombo's and I have added some flowersoft and stickles to the center of the flowers.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day, Anja

Christmas with CDS

Hello, anybody out there??
Can't believe it's been almost a week since I have stamped. Today I sat down, made a card, finished it and now I am posting it, it feels good!
The stamps are from Clear Dollar stamps, love this pointsetta, it's embossed in gold and watercoloured with Tombo's.
The Nestabilitie die is cut from glossy paper, embossed with a Crafts too folder, the glossy paper gives it a nice shine.
Now I am off to bring my DH his lunch on the tractor, I'll ride with him for a while so we can talk a bit, you have to enjoy all the possibilities life gives you!
Enjoy your day, thanks for looking, Anja

Happy 50 th Anniversary!

Another anniversary card, this one is with a stamp from Stampendous and the sentiment is from Inkadinkadoo. The flowers are watercoloured with Tombo's, the rest is pretty basic.
There is sponging with River rock ink around the flowers, which gives it a softer look, I think.
Today we were at the Ilderton fair all day and my men are there again tonight, it was fun, but it rained all day, so cold and damp, good thing that we were in the Agri building most of the time where the boys were showing their sheep. Nice to be home, furnace on, hot cup of tea and some quiet time.....
Have a great night, Anja

Anniversary card

An anniversary card for 50 years of marriage, think about it, that's a long time.... A friend asked me to make a card for her good friends who are celebrating this milestone.
She wanted it to be special....well, the white piece in the middle is a piece of tatting, made by me, my first piece of tatting ever.
I got a surprise in the mail, a book with instructions for needle tatting, so I tried it out. As you may know I got some pieces of tatting from a friend from Holland to use on my cards, now I know for sure, that I should only use them for very special occasions!! It's a bit of fine, detailed work!! Go to this blog and you can see a lot of fine tatting!
There is not enough hours in the day....
Have a good one and thanks for looking, Anja

Missing my craft time....

Today I finally got 20 minutes in my craft room.....time just flies by!
The image is from SU, I got this idea from Kim Teasdale, I am doing her on line course and she showed us how to do this faux watercolouring. It's been a while I did this technique but I think it's beautiful. And after not having any craft time for a couple of days, it was time to make a real
Anja card, pink, green, flowers and bling, LOL!
I am off again to go pick up my son from volleyball, he made the team, yippee!!
Thanks for stopping by, Anja

Second post today....whoooooooooooooo wants to play, CIC17

Whoooooooooo wants to play???? That's what they want to know over at Clear Dollar stamps, for the challenge CIC 17, it's all about the owl and/or their habitat.
Check out the details HERE.
I haven't played with my Clear Dollar Stamps for a while, so it's high time I do so!!
Since I don't have any owls from CDS, I looked through my collection and came across this stamp, no brand, no name, it's also a bargain from the garage sale from SGD.
The owl is watercoloured with Tombo's, dp from Basic Grey, branches from a punch from SU,
border from a MS borderpunch, bling and buttons from my own collection, die from Nellie Snellen. The sentiment is from Clear Dollar stamps from a set called Kid's encouragement.
Different colours for me, that's for sure, but I like the card.
Have a great evening and thanks for looking, Anja

Stamp barn flowers

Last night, after we spend the day at the Plowing Match, I was sooooooo tired but I really wanted to colour and make a card, maybe I should have gone to bed....
Anyhow, I have used this stamp from the Stampbarn, I got it at the last garage sale at SGD and by the way there is another one coming up, the out the website for some awesome deals.
The image is coloured with Tombo's and the dp is from Memory Keepers, I look at the card myself, and I think.....it's one of those......do I really like it?
But I made a card and today I am sharing it with you.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Popcorn the bear

For you from Popcorn the bear! She is quite big to be on this size card but that's not her fault,LOL! Coloured with Prisma's and Gamsol, stickled up and paired up with some dp from Basic Grey. When I was finished colouring, I wasn't sure....but I have to say, it starts to grow on me.
The butterfly is a die from Joy craft.
Thanks for looking and enjoy your day, we are off to the Plowing match, Anja

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

Baby card

A baby card from the Popcorn Bear, coloured with Prisma's and Gamsol.
It's not that I haven't done any work in my stamp room, but a lot of stuff is only half finished.....
I have coloured the image with the colours used on the package, love the look of it.
It can be used for a boy or a girl, always handy.
The sentiment is from Verve, fits perfect on the punches from SU.
Hope to be back soon with more to show, thanks for looking, Anja

Stampavie boy and girl

I picked up this cute stamp when Sheila from SGD had it on sale this week, such a cute image! She shouldn't keep having those great sales, LOL!!!
From one of the ladies, who came to the Make and Take, I have learned a lot of things about colouring with the Prisma's. So I couldn't wait to try it out and this is my result.
The card size is 6x6 and the dp from Basic Grey, sentiment from Hero, ribbon out of my own collection and some bling and stickles.
Since school started, life is back to being busy, like normal, you feel like you have to squeeze in some stamp time, but I am not worried, I'll keep working on it.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Welcome home

A Welcome home card for a friend who went to Holland to see family and friends, I don't think she is looking so I am gonna share this card today.
It's a 6 x 6 card, love all the room you have. The frame is from Cuttlebug, one that cuts and embosses at the same time, lots of detail. The flowers are from Just Rite, watercoloured with Tombo's, stickled up, cut out and Flowersoft in the middle. The text I have also made with Just Rite, a MS border and a bow made with the bowmaker, I used my heatgun very carefully on the ends so now they are nice and curly. The flowers are all poppep up, and some even twice.
I am really happy with this card, I hope it makes her happy too!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Brayered background

It's been a couple of days since I have posted something new...I have been working on some cards which I can't show yet. Today I played with my brayer and this is what I came up with. A simple thank you card, always good to have ready for when you need them.
I have followed the tutorial on Splitcoast, it's not hard at all but you probable knew that already.
I am off to pick up my son from volleyball, he is really hoping he will make the team, that will mean lots of driving for me!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, Anja

On a Penny Black roll....

I couldn't wait taking a picture till the stickles were dry, I should have...see the little smudge in the right bottom corner? I was lucky enough that I could still fix it, grrr, hate it when that happens.
It's another Penny Black card, told you, I can't put them away, too much fun.
The sentiment is from SU, borderpunch from EK, Nestabilities, some bling, stickles and flower punches. The present and the little flowers are popped up, the image is again watercoloured with Tombo's.
If you click on the picture, you get a better idea.
Thanks for looking, have a great day, Anja

Mix and match

Penny Black stamps are all over my work table, I keep colouring them, they are so nice. This image is from the set Wonderful and I followed the colours they had used for this stamp on the package. Couldn't decide on a borderpunch... so I have used 3 in total.
Oh, and some new Nestabilities, I had saved a gift certificate from my birthday and I have used it now to buy some of the new ones.
The image is watercoloured with Tombo's and then stickled up. The grass border along the bottom is 2 pieces of border and the 2nd one is popped up.
I am wondering when I will get some quality stamping time, it feels like I have a minute here and there.....you would think with the boys back in school...so I keep my fingers crossed, maybe tomorrow?
Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Flowergirl from Pergamano

When I found this set at Novi I was really excited, I know it doesn't take much, LOL! I haven't seen them anywhere else...yet.
So of course I had to have them! Tonight I got a chance to finish this card, the kids went back to school today so life should be getting a little more organized with maybe some more stamping time. The image is watercoloured with Tombo's and the colour combo is very unusual for me.
The little girl is cut out and popped up, I like this effect. I cut the image out with Labels 11, the biggest one so there was nothing left to mat it with, so I cut out the biggest size again and put the scalloped sides on the top and bottom, now it looks like a circle.
Some stickles had to be added and the sentiment is from my collection, sorry don't remember the name. Ribbon from my ribbon box.
That's all I have to say about the card, I am off to bed, it will take some time to get used to being up so early again.
Have a great night and thanks for stopping by, Anja

Penny Black Challenge

Today I have a Penny Black card to share with you, a different size for once, the card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. I finally got some bigger envelopes so now I can even send those bigger cards, LOL!
This card is for the challenge over at the Penny Black blog, check it out HERE.
The colours to use are purple, cream and brown.
The stamp I used is from the set called Wonderful and that's what all those stamps are from Penny Black, just wonderful!
The sentiment is from Hero, perfect for this little label punch. The little label and flowers are popped up with some dimensionals. The image is watercoloured with Tombo's.
Some cinnamon stickles and a MS border punch and the scorpal to make the frame around it, hard to see in the picture, if you click on it, you get a better idea.
To finish it off, I put some bling in the corners. I am happy with my card, hope you like it too!
Have a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by, Anja
