Today I am combining 2 challenges, the sketch challenge from the CRAZIES and the 30 day color challenge. The flower is from the garage sale, no clue what brand, coloured with tombo's, sentiment from Altenew. Trying to use some of the mini pads of paper I have.....it will be a long time before I use that all, lol.
Challenge time over at the CRAZIES! Use glitter on your card/project! I love glitter, not so much the stuff in a jar, I like it better contained, lol. For this card, I used a piece of glitter cardstock for matting. I painted the (unknown) flower with twinkling H2O's and put stickles over top. The background is make with Dr.Phil's watercolors, stamp from Hero Arts.
For day 4, I coloured up this image from Flourishes, well, it ended in my trash....then I took it out and kind off fixed it by re doing the bigger flowers....After colouring, I put a layer of medium gloss over all the images and made the background with distress ink, tumbled glass.
Sentiment is from MSE. The flower stamp is again in my bag from the garage sale....it is a big bag, lol!
It is September and it is sunny up here but pretty cool....you can smell autumn....
The challenge today is to make a card with a summer/nautical theme. I got this Art Impressions stamp at a garage sale and coloured it up for this challenge. An embossed background and some twine to finish the card off. Hope you like it!
A new 30 day coloring challenge started today, the 8th one, you can find all the details HERE
(I always spell colouring this way, this language thing confuses me,lol, English is my second language so that might explain it, guess I was doing it the Canadian way)
I really wanna do this, I have a bunch of "new to me" stuff on my desk from previous garage sales and some brand new stamps from SGD....I need to play!
You will see a lot of different flowers, lol! The background on this card was made with distress inks, I learned this over at the Daily Marker blog, never thought of doing the background first, great idea!!
The big flower is from Hero Arts, butterfly from Penny Black, little flowers from Altenew, sentiment from Just Rite. I have used my Tombo's to watercolor the flowers, I always used watercolor paper but today I tried it in Bristol smooth, worked like a charm. Some sequins and clear wink of Stella to finish the card off. Hope you like it! Till next time, Anja
How I love to make cards like this! I started out with this flower from Art Impressions stamped on watercolour paper.....and then I just played. With inks, stencils, clarity brushes, deep red stamps, dots, oxide inks, glossy accents.....The sentiment is from Altenew.
When I put the glossy accents on the flower, it did not go smoothly...almost threw it out but kept going. Hope you like it! Till next time, Anja
A bright and cheerful card today! This is for the challenge over at the CRAZIES
We are asked to make a back to school card/to cheer some one up card.
I choose to make a cheerful card, sure happy to be back in my craft room, I found this stamp set in the Dollar store, since I love flowers, it ended up in my basket, lol. Sentiment is from Altenew.
The flowers are coloured with distress inks and then I put a glossy coat over it before I made the background and splattered some chlorine on it, be careful , that stuff is not really meant to be used in your craft area.
Some nuvo drops in the center of the flowers, a strip of shiny tape and a piece of dp out of my stash...
On Sunday afternoon I spend some time colouring with Derwent colorsoft pencils, playing with Altenew stamps, ink, stencils, die, dots..........so relaxing! After I coloured my flowers, I worked on the background, at first I was afraid to "mess" it up, lol, but I think it added so much more depth and I am happy with the result. This card is for a friend, who has her 80th birthday coming up, she is an amazing lady.
Challenge day over at the CRAZIES, it is Hammock Day today and we are asked to create a card with relaxation in mind.First of all , making cards is relaxing, lol! Spending time in nature is something that will also relax me for sure. I am so lucky to live on a farm and we even have our own little bush, and a cabin with a creek.
It is close to home, so we will go there for walks with the dogs and have a coffee.
For my card today, I used the birds from Impression Obsession. I started out with the water, with oil pastels, then I used distress inks, and a variety of Art Impression and Stampscapes stamps. Sentiment is from Hero Arts. Making this card was also a relaxing time!! Love this hobby!
Happy Friday! Have you tried the Clarity brushes yet? A set of 4 super soft brushes, so easy to use, to get ink on with no lines or smudges, a great look with no effort. For my card today, I used some mini stencils from Tim Holtz, set number 25, with two Tim Holtz distress inks, iced spruce and worn lipstick. For the main big panel, you will find that your stencil is not big enough to cover it at one time, but I just move it around till a get full coverage, do not worry about over lapping,it will look great. After I ink up the brush , I just put the first few strokes on a scrap piece, and after that, I go back and forth where I want the colour, no lines, no smudges, you will love it!
The sentiment is from the Tulip set from Altenew, I stamped it a couple of times with Versafine black and the mini misti. Some Nuvo drops, because I could not resist, lol.
Happy Saturday! Today is the third Saturday of the month, and that means it is sketch challenge time over at the CRAZIES. This stamp is new to me, a garage sale find, but it is an older HERO arts stamp. Coloured with derwent inktense pencils, sentiment also from Hero Arts. Some yellow Nuvo drops and ribbon to finish the card off.
This Saturday is the third one of the month and that means it is sketch challenge time over at the CRAZIES.
The flower from Magnolia is heat embossed in gold and I played with my Derwent inktense pencils, trying out some different things than I usually do. The panel with the flower is partly cut out and I added some dew drops to it. Sentiment from Just Rite. Please come on over and see what the other design team members have created and get inspired or join us in the challenge.
Happy Saturday! It's the third Saturday of the month and that means it is sketch challenge time over at the CRAZIES.
I took the liberty to change the sketch a bit, lol, you are free to do so if you need or want to, as long as you have fun creating!
The sketch had a circle in the middle but that did not work for me so I changed it to a square.
Stamps are from Art Impressions and Tim Holtz, I stamped with markers and blended it out with a damp brush to get a watercoloured look. Sentiment from MFT, butterflies from Martha Stewart, and some neptune Nuvo drops. The panel on the left is embossed.
Happy Saturday! Challenge time over at the CRAZIES. Yesterday was National Tea Day.....the challenge is to make something with tea or coffee.....I wanted to play more with my Tim Holtz stamps and the watercolour look with the flowers so I made the challenge work for me, lol.
I did my flowers in the pots, I don't have a stamp that says anything coffee so I put a sketch pen in my Cameo and printed my own sentiment!
Saturday means it is challenge time over at the CRAZIES. This week it is ZOO LOVER'S DAY.....the great time about being on this design team is, that you can stretch the challenges, lol. That is what I did.....I used chickadees on my card, pretty sure they are in the ZOO too, most likely because they are every where, lol. But I really wanted to play with this set from Local Rubber King, I stamped the birds with distress markers and brushed on a glaze, when that was dry the fun begun....
I stamped, inked, sprayed, splattered, used inkagold, enamel embossing powder.....and so on.
